HIV / Aids: the unprecedented challenge

If there is one problem that provides a direct threat for development it is AIDS. Especially in Southern Africa the pandemic has reached enormous proportions. The control of the epidemic brings an unprecedented challenge for all social organizations, churches and governments (authorities).

Prisma members are actively involved in different areas to fight HIV/Aids, from prevention to care for people suffering from Aids. In doing so, they work closely together with churches and local Christian organisations in developing countries.

To join our forces, a committee has been formed who is closely involved with the HIV/Aids issue. The committee is active in many areas, like:
- policy development: a policy document has been developed
- coordinating of activities and collection of relevant material. The library is the direct result of this.
- Information exchange en working together on a strategic plan.
- Working towards more awareness in the own home front (supporters) regarding the seriousness and the magnitude of the HIV/Aids pandemic
- Participation in political discussions and forums around HIV/Aids
- Participation in different international networks.
