Medefinancierings Stelsel II (MFSII)

Prisma members receive MFS Funds on three themes, namely basic health and HIV/AIDS, education, and food security. Prisma does not directly execute projects. All projects are funded through its members.

In 12 countries* the Basic health and HIV/Aids program focuses on:

Strengthening health care systems at both the local and the district level;
Improving access to good quality basic health care for vulnerable groups in remote areas;
Paying special attention to the sexual and reproductive health needs of women, young people, adolescents, and underprivileged groups.

*Afghanistan, Bangladesh, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Haiti, India, Kenya, Malawi, Uganda, South-Sudan, Zimbabwe and South Africa

The Education program focuses on basic education and seeks to:

Expand access to education for the remaining ten to twenty percent that still do not have access;
Reduce high drop-out rates, especially among girls;
Improve the relevance and quality of basic education, including vocational training.

The Food and Nutrition Security program seeks to establish strong and competent civil society networks. These networks lobby to realize the Right to Food by:

Investing in local and resilient food systems (from producers to consumers)
Strengthening multi-stakeholder platforms
Developing policy proposals and holding governments accountable for the realization of the Right to Food.
